Ivermectin is a medication widely used to treat various parasitic infections in humans.Common uses of ivermectin include treating infections such as river blindness (onchocerciasis), lymphatic filariasis, strongyloidiasis, and scabies. It may also be prescribed for head lice and other parasitic skin or intestinal infections. The medication is usually taken orally in tablet form, and the dosage depends on the type of infection and the patient’s weight. When taken as directed under medical supervision Ivermectin for Humans is generally well-tolerated. Mild side effects can include dizziness, nausea, or diarrhea. However, misuse or excessive doses can lead to serious health risks, including neurotoxicity. Ivermectin gained public attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, but major health authorities such as the WHO, FDA, and CDC emphasize that it should not be used to prevent or treat COVID-19 outside of approved clinical trials. It remains a valuable and life-saving drug when used appropriately for parasitic infections in humans.
