Hi everyone,
I’ve observed an interesting trend where amateur managers select funny football names that highlight their own perceived lack of skill.
Titles such as "Mediocre United" or "The Benchwarmers" seem to lower the barrier for entry and reduce the intensity of rivalry. From a psychological standpoint, do you find that these self-deprecating names foster a more supportive and less toxic environment for newcomers?
I would appreciate any feedback on how humorous branding has influenced the longevity and social cohesion of your local clubs or private online groups.
Thanks in advance.
