Decorative plastic fencing panels add a bit of character and charm to the edge of a flower bed. These panels have plastic or metal stakes attached for easy installation. With a little bit of planning and prep work, you can install a plastic flower bed fence in less than an hour.cheap plastic picket fence
Measure the length of the area where you plan to install the fence panels. Divide this measurement by the length of one fencing panel to determine how many panels you will need. For interlocking panels, purchase enough to cover the entire length, or center the fence panels and position decorative stones or flower pots at each end to hide the gaps. Planting small shrubs, herbs or flowers at the ends creates a less cluttered look.
Break up the top 3 to 5 inches of soil along the edge of the bed using a trowel or hand cultivator, so the stakes will insert easily without breaking or bending. Allow 1 to 2 inches of space between the grass and fence panels to protect them when you mow or trim the area.
To install, place the first panel in the desired location along the edge and push the stakes gently into the soil, keeping each panel aligned as you go. Join interlocking pieces as you install them or assemble the entire fence first and then install it.
